The Supp Digest | How the SuppCo Community is Approaching NAD+

This week marked the release of our latest SuppCo Tested report, where we put 10 popular NAD+ products through rigorous third-party testing. The results? Let's just say not all NAD+ products are created equal (you can read the full findings in our report here).
In this issue of The Digest, we’re showcasing how NAD+ supplementation is playing out across our SuppCo community.
NAD+: A Cellular Necessity
NAD+ is a vital molecule found in every cell that helps convert food into energy and supports overall cellular function. Think of it as your cells' currency for staying energized and healthy.
Here's the catch: NAD+ levels decline as we age. Research is emerging on the role of NAD+ supplementation to aid in combating these reduced levels as we get older, making the molecule a promising candidate in the longevity space.
But, as explained in our latest Science Corner, NAD+ supplementation is anything but straightforward. NAD+ itself can be challenging for your body to absorb, and there are countless products to choose from across NAD+ and its precursor molecules.
Taking a look at NAD+ supplementation across the SuppCo community provides some fascinating insights into how real users are navigating this complex landscape.
Community View: NAD+ or Precursors?
Looking across NAD+ and its two most common precursors, nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) and nicotinamide riboside (NR), there are currently 520 NAD+ and precursor products in the SuppCo database. These products make appearances in roughly 15,600 unique user stacks.
That's just shy of 7% of SuppCo users currently supplementing with NAD+-related products. This group leans slightly more male than the general SuppCo population with 57% of users stacking NAD+, NR, or NMN being male versus 43% of all SuppCo users.
As we look at the breakdown within the NAD+ category, supplementation with NAD+ precursors is slightly favored among SuppCo users:
3.5% of SuppCo users are supplementing with NR products
2% with NMN products
1.5% with NAD+ products
This preference for precursors aligns with current scientific thinking, which suggests NAD+ precursors are better absorbed by the body. Our SuppCo Expert Protocols also lean toward NAD+ precursors, with both the Essential Longevity Support and Mitochondria Support protocols recommending NMN.
Products Leading the Way
As we look across the three categories of NAD+, NMN, and NR, each nutrient group has products that are highly favored among the SuppCo community.
For NAD+, the most stacked products were all featured in our SuppCo Tested NAD+ report:
Rho Nutrition Liposomal NAD+ appearing in 1,370 stacks
CataKor NAD+ Advanced appearing in 260 stacks
Double Wood NAD+ appearing in 210 stacks
The popularity of these products made them natural candidates for our SuppCo Tested program.
Among NMN focused products, two brands stand out as favorites for SuppCo users:
Wonderfeel’s Youngr NMN with 710 stacks
Renue by Science’s NMNs (Fast Dissolve) with 420 stacks
And last but certainly not least, in the category of NR products, one brand has gained far more popularity among SuppCo users than all the rest: TruNiagen. TruNiagen’s NR products are stacked by over 2,100 users and have achieved the elusive (perfect) TrustScore of 10.0.
