SuppCo Tested | Creatine Reality Check: The Failures We Found When Testing Popular Products

SuppCo_Tested_Creatine.png

Your supplement cabinet deserves better than empty promises and marketing fluff. That is why we are launching the SuppCo Tested Program, independent testing that cuts through the noise and delivers the truth about what is really in your supplements.

For our first deep dive, we targeted creatine monohydrate, the gold standard of performance supplements with decades of solid research backing its effectiveness.  Creatine is exploding in popularity due to multiple recent studies that have validated its potential to support longevity, cognition and women’s health.

We purchased 11 products straight off the shelf, no special treatment, no cherry-picked samples, and sent them to a fully independent, ISO 17025-accredited laboratory for comprehensive analysis.

We focused on the most affordable and popular brands in SuppCo’s database and purchased 5 powders and 6 gummies for testing.

The results were truly shocking.

While 5 well-established popular powders passed with flying colors, 4 out of the 6 creatine gummies failed on identity and potency testing.

They basically had no creatine in them whatsoever.

Read our full report to review our methodology and detailed product results.

What We Measured

Our testing protocol focused on the metrics that matter most for your performance and safety:

  • Creatine content per serving

  • Creatine purity percentage

  • Creatinine levels (a key creatine breakdown marker)

  • Heavy metal contamination

  • Formulation integrity verification

The Powders: Excellence Across the Board

Here is the good news. Creatine powders delivered exactly what serious athletes and health-conscious individuals deserve

Every single powder we tested hit the mark with precision that should make you confident in your choice.

The results speak for themselves: consistent 5-gram servings, purity levels between 98-101%, and creatinine degradation kept well under 50 ppm. Zero heavy metal concerns. Complete identity verification.

Whether you choose Bulk Supplements, Nutricost, Sports Research, NatureBell, or Jocko Fuel, you are investing in a product that respects your goals and your health.

The Gummies: A Wake-Up Call

Creatine Gummies.png

Convenience and taste should never come at the cost of effectiveness, but unfortunately, 4 out of 6 creatine gummies failed this basic standard.

Of 6 gummy products tested out of the top 10 most popular creatine gummies in our database, 4 best-selling gummies (purchased on Amazon.com) were complete failures that would leave you wondering why your performance is not improving.

The results reveal a disturbing reality. While Happyummmm and DivinusLabs technically contained trace amounts of creatine, achieving an effective 5-gram dose would require consuming 800 gummies from DivinusLabs and an absurd 2,000 gummies from Happyummmm.

These are what we call "fairy dusted" products, with just enough creatine to pass basic forms of "identity" testing while actually delivering just 0.50% or 0.09% of the actual standard dose.

Even worse, EcoWise and Vidabotan contained zero detectable creatine, literally nothing.

EcoWise actually promoted their own "certified" testing results on their DTC storefront. So we tested it twice. Just to be sure. Two different packages, two different lots, two different rounds of testing. It failed both times. Just goes to show that you can't simply trust what's on a label.

In total, the 4 creatine gummies that failed sold approximately 50k units on Amazon.com over the last month.

This is not effective supplementation and at SuppCo we believe users need to be aware of the risks of buying products that do not actually contain their labeled active ingredient. Purchasers of these supplements would have been spending money not to get any creatine, and would have been consuming extra sugar as a byproduct.

Only two gummies earned our respect:

  • Force Factor provided 6.3 grams per serving, well over their 5 gram label serving

  • Create delivered 4.59 grams per serving, over their 4.5 gram label serving

However, even these winners demonstrated the inherent challenge of stabilizing creatine in gummy format; both had significant levels of creatinine, a relatively harmless byproduct of creatine but clear marker of some creatine degradation.

So while the gummy format may taste appealing, it clearly draws products with low or failing quality standards, and even gummies that passed our testing appeared to struggle to maintain active ingredient integrity.

TrustScore: Your Strategic Advantage

Creatine_TrustScore.png

Before any product entered our lab, we had already evaluated each using SuppCo's TrustScore, our comprehensive 10-point system that examines transparency, third-party testing, certifications, and manufacturing standards. The correlation in the data between TrustScore and actual testing performance was clear and significant.

The four failed gummies all carried very low TrustScores, while the two successful gummies and most of the powders consistently scored higher. Coincidence?

TrustScore is designed to function as a product quality evaluation system and in this case it clearly worked.  All four products that failed testing had strong reviews on Amazon.com but low TrustScores. When brands skip transparency, avoid third-party testing, or cut corners on manufacturing practices, TrustScore can help users make better choices.

Your Strategic Takeaway

If you are serious about your creatine supplementation, powders likely represent your most reliable path to results. They deliver consistency, purity, and effectiveness without compromise. Gummies may appeal to your convenience desires, but many may sabotage your performance goals with underdosed or completely ineffective formulations.

Whether you are choosing creatine or any other supplement, TrustScore provides your verified method for cutting through marketing confusion and identifying products that will actually support your goals.

Take control of your supplementation strategy. Demand transparency. Choose products that respect your investment in your health and performance.

Personal note from Jordan

When we started this testing initiative, I expected to find some inconsistencies in the supplement industry. What we discovered shattered my assumptions about how widespread the failures really are.

Watching those lab results come back, seeing products with zero detectable creatine being sold to trusting consumers, ignited something in me. This is not just poor quality control. This is a systemic issue that undermines your health goals while you remain completely unaware.

The scope of this issue runs deeper than I imagined. This is precisely why I am passionate about expanding our testing program with the SuppCo team. We need to evaluate more categories, test more products, and give you the tools to educate yourself. Every supplement category deserves this level of scrutiny.

Your trust and your health are worth fighting for.

We are just getting started.
