The Supp Digest | TrustScore 2026 is Here
The latest version of TrustScore will be live on SuppCo starting next week. In this week's Digest we're diving into what's changing.
Why does TrustScore change?
TrustScore was created in service to SuppCo users to showcase the steps supplement brands take to create high-quality supplements.
As TrustScore grew to 35k+ products in 2025, we were heartened to see countless examples of TrustScore’s impact on product quality. Brands stopped using risky inactive ingredients, launched transparent COA pages, and improved testing standards.
Buyers at major retailers even began using TrustScore as part of their evaluation process for new products.
We take TrustScore’s role in helping users find the highest quality supplements and bending the industry towards improved quality and transparency seriously. There is no system that cannot be improved, and SuppCo aims to improve TrustScore every year while keeping our algorithm current and reliable for our users and the industry.
We expect to release updates to TrustScore on an annual cadence in order to reflect the latest industry standards across certifications, testing practices, scientific rigor, and ingredient safety.
What's new in TrustScore 2026?
The majority of updates in TrustScore 2026 are focused on the Product Certification and Product Quality sections.
TrustScore 2026 will recognize 4 independent product certifications that were not credited in the previous version:
NSF Contents Certified
Eurofins Certified Supplement
Eurofins Clean Sport Certified
A first-of-its kind certification program from SuppCo which will be announced this week
TrustScore 2026 will also introduce four new attributes in our Product Quality section. These attributes are intended to raise awareness when SuppCo’s data shows that consumers may want additional information on certain quality practices.
A labeling discrepancy attribute. This attribute will apply to products whose labels appear inconsistent with FDA labeling regulations and may be confusing to supplement consumers. SuppCo is working with a regulatory expert on dietary supplement labeling to assess this attribute, relying on a structured, criteria-based approach to review labels.
An FDA warning letter attribute. This attribute will apply to brands and products that have received a formal warning letter from the FDA due to issues such as cGMP violations, misbranding, adulteration, and/or failure to report adverse events.
A product recall attribute. This attribute will apply to products under active recall, inclusive of both voluntary brand recalls and FDA-mandated recalls. These individual recalls can be hard for consumers to track and follow. SuppCo is making it easier for our users to stay informed of these events by incorporating the data into TrustScore.
A proprietary blend attribute. This attribute will apply to products that contain more than 20 ingredients under a proprietary blend, in an effort to to help users identify products where individual ingredient amounts may not be fully clear. We have consistently heard feedback from SuppCo’s users that when a high number of ingredients are listed under a proprietary blend, it makes it difficult to know the amounts of each ingredient they are actually consuming. This flag does not apply to probiotic products.
TrustScore 2026 will also include ongoing updates to our inactive ingredient ratings database based on research published in the last 12-18 months.
You can find the list of all attributes included in TrustScore 2026 and how they are determined at the TrustScore overview page.
Will the TrustScore for the products in my stack change?
Individual product TrustScores may change, although total point value changes across the 35k TrustScored products are minimal. TrustScore is designed to be a robust and stable scoring system that you can reliably reference.
Products that have achieved one of the new Product Certifications listed above or that have multiple new Product Quality attributes will have the largest score changes.
Do I need to do anything to see the new TrustScore for my products?
No action required! SuppCo will automatically update all TrustScored products and brands next week with the latest algorithm updates.
How do I request a TrustScore for products in my stack?
The SuppCo research team is hard at work adding new TrustScores to products each day and we have TrustScores available on over 35,000 supplements.
If there’s a product in your stack that doesn’t have a TrustScore yet that you’d like to see scored, you can request a TrustScore on the product’s main page:
